Honda announces its leadership again by launching 2 latest scooters. Boosting the revenue of the last quarter, the launches will cover a larger area of motorcycle market in the country. Honda PCX will be world premiered in Thailand at the end of the year while Honda Scoopy i - the original fun from Japan - will be the country's first scooter equipped with PGM-FI system.

Apart from the world-class model, Honda has added more spice to the local motorcycle industry by launching the latest fun on the street. Originated in Japan, the petit but chic scooter Honda Scoopy i which will be equipped with PGM-FI system will be the new fashion must-have for any younger generation on the road. The model is offered in three styles: "Fun", "Cute" and "Prestige" that come in seven graphic patterns. The chic fun of Scoopy i will be presented by heartthrob Mario Maurer and singer Pimnara " Tina " Right.  The model will be available on September 25 at Bt44,300 and targets to reach 150,000 units sold per year.

"The over all motorcycle market has gradually recovered after positive signs shown during the second half of the year. The market forecast at the beginning of 2009 of 1.35 million units sold was adjusted to 1.47 million units. Ones of the boosts are regular campaigns and innovations by Honda. One of the most successes is the announcement earlier this year that the PGM-FI system to be equipped in every Honda bikes. Honda is glad to continue our mission by introducing two more automatic transmission (AT) models equipped with PGM-FI. "Honda Scoopy i" and "Honda PCX" will be filling the loops in all segments. Honda is definitely the leader, with our four AT models which are "Click-i", "Air Blade i", "Scoopy i" and "Honda PCX" to continue the fun on the streets," says Zenjiro Sakurai, Chairman of AP Honda.

Taken from its original model in Japan in 1992, round and curvy "Scoopy i" is the new fashion scooter for Thailand. To show off the fullest fun of the chic scooter, heartthrob Mario Maurer and singer Pimnara "Tina" Wright will present the "Cute" series while model Thana "Bomb" will be presenting the "Prestige" series.

Inspired by the "Round, Cute and Fun" characters of the original Japanese model, "Scoopy i" has been designed to cater the modern lifestyle of the Bangkok youngsters. The built-in round grand headlight or "Big Eye" and "Mini Eye" projector offers the retro look of a Mini car. The "superior front bushing" adds more fun to the design. The color of the "chic mirror" is ready to be changed to match your mood. It's the chic, fun and design combined.

"Modern Classic Winker" adds more classic element on the front and rear of the scooter. The "Duo Dashing Classic Meter" comes with the deluxe tail-light and chromium hand grip that will definitely reflect your character.

The well-padded "comfort seat" has been designed for your comfort ride. If the underseat storage compartment "U-Box" isn't enough, there's always "front inner box" to store your stuff. The unique design is also equipped with "Curvy Muffler Cover" and "Front Disk Brake". Front-rear shock     absorber makes your rider even smoother. The chic "Color Caliper" comes in red for the "Fun" series, gold for the "Cute" and "Prestige" series. All the unique design is equipped with advanced technology and safety standard by Honda, including "Automatic Key Shutter", "Brake Lock Lever" and "Side Stand Switch".

"Scoopy i" is offered in three series, featuring seven graphic patterns. The first series, "Fun" is the sporty look with three choices of two-tone seats; white-red, black-red and blue-black. The second series, "Cute" is the naughty princess that offers ivy rococo graphics offered in two choices of two-tone seats; pink-white and green-white. The third series, "Prestige" is especially designed in gold, offered in two choices of two-tone seat; black-brown and white-brown.

The 110cc Honda Scoopy i is 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine, air-cooled scooter that is equipped with PGM-FI system. Being able to handle E20 fuel, the engine conforms to the level 6 emission control regulation. The fuel consumption of the Scoopy-i has achieved a top level of 49 kilometers per liter in ECE 40 Mode. The system is under five-year or 50,000-kilometer warranty.

To cater all the unique lifestyles of the youngsters, Honda offers C-parts or accessories and Honda Collection for the riders to personalize their vehicles and outfits.

Honda Scoopy i will be available nationwide at Bt44,300 on September 25. Regular campaigns and marketing strategies have been planned to boost the sales target set at 150,000 units per year. Special with fun campaign!. For the 1st 10,000 units will get "Scoopy i Collection" which consists of jackets and helmets in the same color with motorcycle until 15 October 2009 or until stock out.

Moreover, Honda will introduce another high-end scooter "Honda PCX" to be the top in the scooter line. The world-class scooter that will be distributed around the world will only be world premiered in Thailand soon to boost the revenue of the last quarter.
